14-15 March 2025 – Day 23-24 – Cruising at Sea and Coco Cay
Cruising at Sea and Coco Cay
Day 6 Cruising at Sea. A quiet day at sea today. We wnt to see CATS in the the Royal Theatre. It was OK, not something Janine or I are going to spend money to see again.
Dinner at the 150 Central Park restuarant. Wonderful experience, great food and atmosphere.
Day 7 Perfect Day CocoCay. CocoCay is an island in the Bahamas Royal Caribbean has purchased and developed for their cruise guests.
Today is a perfect day, quite warm and cloudless.
We disembarked about 10:00 am and made our way down the pier to a lot of music and fanfare. Today there are two Royal Caribbean ships in, ours the Oasis of the Seas and the Independence of the Seas, and although Oasis is a couple of decks larger there are going to be a lot of people here.
We’ve purchased an entry to the CocoBeach Club which is on the other side of the island, see map. A lot less people are here and we get some freebies including towels, sunscreen, waiters to get us drinks and a lunch in the outdoor restaurant. We found a spot on the beach with a sun bed, umbrella and towels looking out over the ocean. The waiter is there almost immediately with a drinks menu. You’ve just got to have cocktails in this place. I think we had too many. A dip in the pool and the ocean. Laid back and more cocktails and then lunch. Fillet steak for Janine and Grouper for me followed by a lovely dessert with some lovely wine and more cocktails.
We walked around the island to see what else was going on, this is a great place for everybody that comes, young, elderly, and even special pushers with fat wheels to push very young children on the beach.
After several hours and as many cocktails, time to head back to the ship and a final meal in the Main Dining Room and farewell to our waiter.
Luggage has to be packed and labelled and placed outside the cabin before 10pm because tomorrow is the end of a wonderful cruise
Tomorrow we fly to New York
